Egypt has extended by six months the deadline for licensed private recruitment agencies to bring their operations into line with the country’s updated labor law, according to a government decision published in the Official Gazette.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued Decision No. 2652 of 2026 covering agencies that place Egyptian workers in jobs inside or outside the country. The extension applies to companies structured as joint-stock companies, partnerships limited by shares, limited liability companies or one-person companies.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette’s issue No. 36 repeated on September 7, 2026. It gives agencies additional time to complete the procedures and requirements needed to comply with Law No. 14 of 2025, which regulates labor activities and the placement of Egyptian workers.
In a separate decision, Madbouly appointed the labor minister to the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, which was established under a 2024 cabinet decision. The move is intended to strengthen coordination between government bodies working on entrepreneurship, investment and employment.
