Aqaba Digital Hub has launched Klstrai, Jordan’s first dedicated, locally hosted AI compute platform, giving government entities, companies, startups and developers access to AI infrastructure from within the Kingdom.
The platform supports data analysis, document processing, process automation, digital assistants and customer-service applications. Users can access on-demand compute without buying specialised equipment or building their own infrastructure, while organisations can also use Klstrai to develop and operate fully integrated solutions.
The launch was attended by Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, along with officials from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Aqaba Governorate, Aqaba Development Corporation and the ministry.
Klstrai is hosted at Aqaba Digital Hub, which includes Jordan’s largest data centre, spanning around 17,000 square metres with capacity of up to 12 megawatts. The hub also houses the country’s first Tier III-certified, carrier-neutral data centre, a submarine cable landing station and AqabaIX, Jordan’s only internet exchange.
According to the announcement, the platform is designed to give Jordanian organisations a domestic option for handling AI workloads and sensitive data, reducing reliance on infrastructure hosted abroad.
