Algeria has opened applications for the first edition of the President of the Republic Award for the Best Startup, a national competition recognising innovative projects, startups and scale-ups.
The award is open exclusively to holders of a valid Innovative Project, Startup or Scale-up label issued by the National Labeling Committee. Applicants must submit their entries between 23 July and 23 August 2026 through the digital platform.
The competition includes three categories. The Best Scale-up will receive 3,000,000 DZD, the Best Startup 2,000,000 DZD, and the Best Innovative Project 1,000,000 DZD. The total prize pool is 6M DZD.
A jury will assess applications from September to October based on criteria including innovation, business model sustainability, growth, market validation, economic impact and the team’s ability to execute. Scale-ups will also be evaluated on sustained growth and expansion potential.
The winners will be announced at an official ceremony during Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2026. According to the award platform, the initiative aims to give recognised founders greater visibility with investors, public institutions, partners and other ecosystem stakeholders.
