EFG Hermes has launched Younit, an algorithmic trading API platform designed to give retail traders, developers and students broader access to trading infrastructure in Egypt and the region.
Announced on November 1, 2026, the platform is available through EFG Hermes ONE. It provides market data, automation tools, APIs, software development kits and testing environments that users can use to evaluate investment ideas, visualize portfolios and build trading applications.
Retail traders can test rule-based strategies against historical data and use conditional execution tools. Developers can build strategies, analytics dashboards and portfolio or basket-trading products, while students can turn academic projects into practical market tools and take part in performance-based challenges.
EFG Hermes said Younit will also support competitions, hackathons, university challenges, summer internships and performance leaderboards as it develops an algorithmic trading community. The platform is intended to support the Egyptian Exchange’s efforts to modernize the capital market and expand technology-enabled participation.
“With Younit, we are opening access to the building blocks of smarter trading,” said Ahmed Waly, Group Head of Securities Brokerage at EFG Hermes.
