Saudi fintech company HALA is expanding its financial services platform for small and medium-sized businesses, with plans spanning payments, business accounts, cards, transfers and lending.

The company currently serves around 150,000 SMEs in Saudi Arabia. According to CEO and co-founder Maher Loubeih, HALA’s share of the country’s payments and point-of-sale market is about 8%, rising to an estimated 20% to 25% among SMEs.

HALA described its long-term ambition as building a “bank of the future” for smaller businesses. The strategy marks a broader move beyond payment services and point-of-sale tools toward an integrated digital financial platform.

The company raised $157M in a Series B round led by The Rise Funds, part of TPG, and Sanabil Investments. HALA said the funding will support service expansion, lending product development and regional growth.

The company is also exploring artificial intelligence applications in financial services as Saudi Arabia’s digital payments infrastructure and fintech ecosystem continue to develop. Its focus remains on micro, small and medium-sized businesses, which often require tools for payments, cash-flow management and business financing.

HALA said Saudi Arabia remains central to its regional expansion plans, supported by its customer base and broader product roadmap.
