Jordan has launched IRTIQA, a national framework designed to help government institutions assess their digital maturity, identify gaps and improve digital public services.
The framework was officially launched by Badrieh Al Balbisi, Minister of State for Public Sector Development, on behalf of Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. Samira Alzubi, the ministry’s secretary general, also attended the launch.
Developed under the leadership of the Digital Transformation Unit at the Prime Ministry, IRTIQA establishes a common approach for evaluating digital transformation across government institutions.
The launch was attended by Germany’s ambassador to Jordan, Bertram von Moltke, as well as representatives from government institutions and partner organisations. The framework was presented by Digital Transformation Unit Director Salim Louis Salameh and its Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance, Sewar Shraideh.
GIZ Jordan’s PARtner II project is supporting the framework’s institutionalisation and rollout through technical assistance, capacity building and further development, in cooperation with the Digital Transformation Unit and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
