The Tunisian startup ecosystem is celebrating a major milestone as three high-potential ventures prepare to showcase their innovations on the global stage. Following the highly anticipated 10th edition of the Tunisia Digital Summit, three local startups have been selected to travel to California this November for the prestigious Startup World Cup, overseen by the Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Pegasus Tech Ventures.

Celebrating Ecosystem Excellence at Tunisia Digital Summit

The national finals took place during the Tunisia Digital Summit, an event that gathered over 2,500 participants, including tech experts, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders. Serving as a premier reference platform for digital transformation and innovation across Africa, the summit hosted the first-ever national final of the Startup World Cup, organized locally by TPM Events. Following a rigorous selection process out of more than 160 applicants, 10 startups were shortlisted to pitch their solutions to a distinguished jury of local and international investors and decision-makers.

The Three Champions Heading to California

The fierce competition culminated in the selection of three outstanding startups, each addressing critical technological and environmental challenges. Pwn & Patch, a cybersecurity firm, secured the first prize with the backing of Tunisie Place de Marché (TPM). Pixii Motors, specializing in sustainable mobility, earned the second prize with the support of the Rose Blanche Group. Finally, WaterSec, focused on smart water management, took the third prize, supported by Orange Tunisie.

All three startups will travel to California to meet with potential investors and clients, drastically accelerating their international expansion. Furthermore, Pwn & Patch will have the exclusive honor of representing Tunisia in the global finals in San Francisco, competing against elite startups from around the world for a $1 million investment prize.

Corporate Backing Fuels Innovation

The success of these startups underscores the vital role of corporate partnerships in nurturing the MENA tech ecosystem. The Rose Blanche Group, a leading industrial player in the food sector, emphasized its commitment to fostering innovation and building sustainable collaborations with young talent capable of creating high-value technological, environmental, and social solutions.

Similarly, the dynamic growth of Tunisia’s entrepreneurial landscape is heavily supported by ecosystem enablers like the Orange Digital Center. Their acceleration programs previously incubated Pwn & Patch in 2023, while also supporting WaterSec and Pixii Motors in earlier national competitions. This collective backing reflects a strong corporate social responsibility commitment from major regional players aiming to drive positive developmental impact.
