The agreement focuses on several key areas, including supporting digital transformation initiatives, fostering an innovation-friendly environment, and connecting startups and SMEs with larger corporations.
A Gateway to New Markets
For his part, Eng. Fathallah Fawzy, President of ELBA, expressed that the protocol is a fundamental pillar for integrating efforts between Egypt’s tech sector and Lebanon’s business community, which will boost the competitiveness of companies in both countries.
Fawzy highlighted that the future of industry and commerce relies heavily on integrating digital solutions. He noted that the partnership will help remove barriers for companies looking to upgrade their technological infrastructure. ELBA aims to increase investments between Egypt and Lebanon by organizing bilateral business meetings, trade missions, and promoting member products to commercial delegations throughout the year.
Executing the Vision: Joint Initiatives
The agreement outlines a practical roadmap for integrating startups into the digital economy. Amr Fathouh explained that the collaboration will include concrete initiatives such as capacity-building programs for entrepreneurs, exhibitions in industrial cities to showcase Egyptian IT solutions, and training programs for ELBA members.
Further cooperation will involve joint coordination on the “Digital Nation” conference to promote digital transformation culture. Startups will also have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming “Youth of Industry and SMEs” conference.
The partnership also extends to organizing specialized missions for tech companies, holding sessions on AI applications in industry, and forming a joint committee to monitor the protocol’s implementation and evaluate its outcomes. Both parties confirmed the agreement is part of an integrated plan to support member companies, particularly those in industrial zones, and to organize reciprocal business visits to deepen economic and technological ties.
