Saudi technology training institution Tuwaiq Academy has launched an AI Innovation Centre in Riyadh in collaboration with NVIDIA, in an initiative the partners describe as the first of its kind in the Middle East.
The centre will focus initially on natural language processing (NLP), with Tuwaiq and NVIDIA experts developing joint programmes to strengthen Saudi talent in AI and emerging technologies. The initiative is designed around practical, application-focused training and aims to produce globally certified professionals with skills aligned with labour market needs, according to the announcement.
The launch took place at Tuwaiq Academy’s headquarters and was attended by NVIDIA representatives, partners and industry experts. Tuwaiq Academy CEO Abdulaziz Alhammadi said the collaboration supports the institution’s efforts to build national AI capabilities and advance technology leadership in Saudi Arabia.
The academy, which was launched in 2019 and is based at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, aims to qualify 100,000 programmers by 2030 through training courses and programming bootcamps. The new centre adds to NVIDIA’s growing number of education and AI partnerships across the region.
