Beni Suef Deputy Governor Bilal Habash joined a national roundtable in New Beni Suef City focused on strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship and technology employment in the Egyptian governorate.
Held at Silicon Waha within the Digital Egypt Creativity Center, the discussion was part of Future Forward 2026. Venture X, the center’s official operator, organised the event with Aura Communication under the supervision of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
Government bodies, technology companies, universities, training institutions, civil society organisations and startup founders attended. Participants included representatives of ITIDA, TIEC, Vodafone, Samsung, Al Araby Group, Beni Suef University, the Information Technology Institute and the National Telecommunication Institute.
Discussions focused on turning ecosystem challenges into practical cooperation between the public sector, private companies, academia and entrepreneurs. Participants also examined how to better align education and training with demand for IT, digital services and outsourcing, while expanding employment pathways for young people.
The roundtable also addressed startup support, including skills development, mentorship, access to funding and market opportunities. Habash said the governorate wants to reduce barriers for startups and attract more investment, particularly in communications and information technology.
According to ITIDA project director Rania Alwany, programmes in Beni Suef trained around 5,000 people between 2024 and 2026, while the local Digital Egypt Creativity Center supported and incubated eight startups.
