The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has selected ARRAY Innovation to establish an AI Centre of Excellence as part of its AI@NBB programme.
The centre will deploy dedicated ARRAY AI Squads alongside NBB’s central AI team to move priority use cases from requirements and prototyping through integration, testing and controlled deployment. The teams will work with NBB’s business and technology functions on multiple projects in parallel.
According to the announcement, NBB will retain ownership of its AI strategy, governance and business outcomes, while ARRAY will provide specialist AI expertise, engineering capacity and delivery support. The model is also designed to build AI experience within NBB as its teams work directly with ARRAY engineers.
Razi Amin, Group Chief Technology Officer at NBB, said the collaboration would strengthen the bank’s execution capacity while maintaining the security, resilience and technical standards required in banking.
The partnership builds on previous work between the two organisations, including an agreement formalised at Gateway Gulf 2024 to bring natural language processing and generative AI capabilities to NBB. ARRAY said the new centre would help take priority use cases from concept to production.
