Beyon to Expand Bahrain Green Data Centre Portfolio to Three Centres

Beyon is set to expand its green data centre portfolio in Bahrain to three centres after completing Phase 5 of its solar programme, the company announced during Gateway Gulf 2026.

Developed with Almoayyed Solar, the latest phase represents an investment of approximately BD544,500. It will cover 14,000 square metres and include 2,292 solar panels with a total capacity of 1.5 MWp.

Once completed in the coming months, the installation is expected to generate around 2.5 GWh of clean energy annually and reduce carbon emissions by more than 1,585 tonnes of CO₂ each year.

Beyon said the project will bring the number of its renewable-energy-powered green data centres to three. The expansion is part of a broader, multi-year programme to increase the use of clean energy across its digital infrastructure.

The company also completed Phase 4 during 2026, extending renewable energy to Total CX’s Customer Contact Centre, which Beyon described as Bahrain’s first green contact centre.

The latest development follows Phase 3, announced at Gateway Gulf 2025, which enabled Beyon’s Tier III Certified Data Center in Hamala to operate entirely on renewable energy.
