Qatar is taking part in Web Summit Lisbon 2026 for the fourth consecutive year, with a delegation led by Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabr Al Thani, director of the Government Communications Office and chair of the permanent committee overseeing Web Summit Qatar.

The event runs from November 9 to 12 in the Portuguese capital. Qatar’s participation is also intended to build interest ahead of the fourth Web Summit Qatar, scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2027, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

Qatar’s pavilion, overseen by the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar through the Start from Qatar programme, brings together government and semi-government entities focused on technology, investment and entrepreneurship. The pavilion will highlight business opportunities, support company registration and showcase four startups backed by the programme: Groowa, Alligator, Multiverse Computing and Wellbees.

According to the announcement, Start from Qatar has received more than 10,000 applications and provided over $100M in funding to more than 50 startups from several countries. The programme also offers incentives including waived registration and licence renewal fees, subsidised workspace and housing, mentorship and market access support.

Qatar Science and Technology Park will use the event to present its startup programmes, including a $30M venture capital fund for founders based in Qatar, as well as accelerators focused on women’s health technology and water technology.
