Egyptian fintech company Fawry has won the Achievement in Payments award at The Card & Payments Awards Middle East 2026, held in Dubai on September 17.
According to the announcement, the award recognises Fawry’s contribution to developing Egypt’s payments sector and its role in expanding digital financial services.
The judging panel highlighted the company’s broad and sustainable business model, its impact on the Egyptian market, and its successful initial public offering and listing on the Egyptian Exchange. It also recognised the leadership of Ashraf Sabry, Fawry’s founder and CEO, in guiding the company’s growth from a locally established startup into a major payments player in Egypt.
Mariam El Sayed, head of non-banking products at Fawry, accepted the award.
The company said its network includes 36 banks and more than 379,000 agents across Egypt. It processes over 6 million transactions daily and serves around 55.4 million monthly users, figures that point to the scale of its role in the country’s shift toward digital payments and greater financial inclusion.
