The MENA Fintech Association has published its latest bi-annual regulatory update, outlining the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Financial Services Regulatory Authority’s priorities and developments across digital assets and financial services.
The report follows an FSRA regulatory update session held on 19 May 2026, attended by around 20 representatives from MFTA member firms. The session was led by members of the FSRA Policy & Legal team, Lawrence Paramasivam and Margaret Devaney, and moderated by Christine Assali, co-chair of MFTA’s Policy & Regulations Working Group.
According to the association, ADGM’s digital asset market is expanding beyond institutional custody and price exposure. The report covers tokenised assets, structured products, staking, lending and borrowing, as well as the growth of supporting infrastructure such as custodians, brokerage venues, compliance providers and transaction monitoring solutions.
It also examines the FSRA’s framework for fiat-referenced tokens, alongside developments in custody, financial crime controls, technology risk, market integrity and supervision. Other themes include artificial intelligence in regulated entities, tokenisation and traditional finance convergence, cross-border regulatory coordination and the potential impact of quantum computing.
MFTA Chairman Nameer Khan said the association’s engagement with regulators is intended to improve industry understanding as technology, business models and regulatory frameworks evolve.
