Egypt aims to support more than 250 new artificial intelligence startups and enable 36% of its citizens to use AI-powered tools by 2030, according to Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi.
Speaking at the opening of FDC Summit 2026, Hindi said the targets are part of the second phase of Egypt’s National AI Strategy for 2025-2030. The strategy focuses on six areas: governance, technology, data, infrastructure, the ecosystem and human capacity building.
The government also plans to provide advanced professional training to more than 30,000 specialists. Hindi said Egypt is shifting from building AI readiness to turning technology and capabilities into products, services and economic value.
Support for startups will be delivered through 24 Digital Egypt Creativity Centers, which offer skills training, entrepreneurship programs, incubation, technical, legal and marketing advice, and connections to investors and markets.
Hindi also said Egypt is expanding access to computing resources for researchers, developers and startups, helping them move from ideas to deployable products. The country is developing a national Arabic language model and preparing a national data center strategy expected to launch before the end of the year.
