Abu Dhabi-based Space42 has launched Future Space Pioneers, a program offering Emirati students practical experience in space technology, artificial intelligence and data.
The program runs for four to 16 weeks at Space42 facilities and combines technical seminars with hands-on work supervised by industry specialists. Participants will explore space technology applications, AI-assisted data analysis and challenges relevant to the sector, while developing skills such as problem-solving, collaboration and communication.
The initiative targets students studying STEM subjects, AI, data management and other technical disciplines. Its first cohort includes students from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and Zayed University, alongside pupils from schools selected by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge.
Space42 said it plans to run two cohorts each year, creating a recurring talent pipeline between schools, universities and the UAE’s space industry. Participants will receive a Space42 certificate recognised by participating partner organisations.
“The future of the space sector is not only linked to the technologies we develop, but also to the people who can understand, apply and develop these technologies in the future,” said Adith Abraham, Space42’s Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development.
