Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is preparing to partner with NVIDIA as a strategic partner to support the growth of the country’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, according to statements made at a NVIDIA event in Cairo.
NVIDIA’s Egypt ecosystem includes more than 200 startups enrolled in its Inception program and over 46,000 developers. Paolo Guglielmini, NVIDIA’s vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said around 40,000 STEM graduates enter Egypt’s workforce each year.
Guglielmini said Egypt’s opportunity lies in developing applications that connect AI models with sector-specific data and operational needs. He also pointed to model training and adaptation as potential growth areas for local developers, particularly as open-source models become more widely used.
Ahmed El-Zaher, ITIDA’s CEO, said the agency views NVIDIA as more than a technology supplier and is preparing to work with the company and its partners to strengthen local startups, talent and applications.
The officials said building a scalable AI economy will require parallel development across talent, energy, infrastructure, chips, models and applications. Guglielmini also invited Egyptian startups and developers to attend GTC Berlin, scheduled for October 20 to 22, where they can connect with investors, customers and companies from around the world.
